With its wide-open spaces, Franche-Comté is an excellent place for practising sports and activities. Not far from the hotel, discover the numerous hiking trails and discover the La Lieze pond and the Epesses wood. Leaving Valdahon, follow the Vita trail for a mix of walking and sporting activity. Also enjoy the nearby Vallée de la Loue and the Vallée du Lison, where you can discover its natural wonders such as cliffs, grottos, chasms and waterfalls. Criss-crossed by more than 800 km of walkways, they offer total relaxation within the limestone plateaux of the Jura. If you love mountain biking, you’ll also love the many marked trails leading to such places as the Gorges de Nouailles or to the Source de la Loue. En route, you’ll be able to admire such incredible sites as the Gouffre de Poudrey or, next-door, the Dino Zoo, which presents the different animals living in prehistoric times.

In summer, head to the wooded shores of the Lac de Saint-Point for many water-based activities, including swimming, sailing and fishing. You can also enjoy a ride down the Doubs River in a canoe or kayak. For an adrenaline rush, head to one of the many places offering climbing, via ferrata or caving, or take to the skies gliding or paragliding. In winter, the Métabief ski area has 37 km of pistes and freestyle spaces for all. To add a bit of variety, also discover the 10 other nearby Alpine ski resorts, or roam the pistes of the 4 large cross-country areas for many hours exploring the snowy landscape. Also enjoy the department’s 260 km of snow-shoeing pistes or traverse the large valleys and forests in a dog-sled.
